If you’re struggling with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, or chronic pain, you're not alone—and you're not out of options. At Field Trip Health in Vancouver, we offer Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), an evidence-based, non-invasive treatment designed to stimulate nerve cells in targeted areas of the brain. This innovative therapy can help you find lasting relief when other treatments haven’t worked.
rTMS (repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation) is a Health Canada and FDA-approved therapy that uses a series of short, focused magnetic pulses to stimulate regions of the brain involved in mood regulation. These magnetic fields help reset abnormal brain activity associated with mental health conditions, improving adaptability and emotional balance.
Whether you're facing treatment-resistant depression, OCD, or post-traumatic stress disorder, rTMS offers a proven alternative to medication and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), with minimal side effects and no downtime.

"I am a retired Captain with Vancouver Fire Rescue Services. I was diagnosed with Complex PTSD and Major Depressive Disorder both ranked in the severe range. I reached bottom this summer while waiting for Worksafebc to make a decision on a urgent/immediate reopening of my file (5 months and still waiting) and made the decision that I could not wait any longer for Worksafebc to give me the help I so desperately needed. I researched several clinics and found Field Trip Health to be the one for me. I highly recommend Field Trip Health and Psychedelic Assisted Therapy. They completely changed my life in the most positive ways possible. When I first started the therapy I was cautiously optimistic and could never imagine the profound positive changes that I experienced. I am eternally grateful to Nav and Terri for their compassion and understanding. You will not regret trying Psychedelic Assisted Therapy with Field Trip Health. Psychedelic Assisted Therapy is not cheap but the best investment you will make in your mental health. Money well spent."

"After a lifetime of treatment-resistant depression, chronic anxiety and PTSD, I can honestly say that the treatment offered at Field Trip Health is truly life-saving. My experience with them has been one of the most powerful of my life, and for the first time in as long as I can remember, I am actually looking forward to the future - and the present - with hope. Throughout the entire process, each and every person I dealt with was kind, caring, compassionate, and both consummately professional but also authentically human. They made what could have been a daunting or even frightening experience feel safe and thoroughly supported. I can't thank them enough, and if you are struggling with your own challenges, I would highly recommend reaching out, and giving them a call."

"Complex PTSD & Major Depressive Disorder, after 24yrs of policing & emergency service employment. I can say, what I accessed through psychedelic-assisted therapy treatments, I am not confident I could have, without the medication. It’ll leave you raw & exhausted, but feeling more capable than ever, to manage that overflowing trauma bucket. You can mitigate the overall feeling of complete hopelessness & helplessness, once the uniform is shed & all that’s left of you….is you. Don’t give up. “There’s more life to live”. I think this treatment has allowed me to believe that statement to be true. Blessings"

"Staff are incredible, the clinic is gorgeous, and the modality is wonderful. We embarked on 6 KAP experiences over 4 weeks and I feel better than I ever have. My PTSD symptomology was miraculously reduced, and I found access to my creative imagination again. I am so honored to be in the care of these wonderful practitioners, they were trauma informed and so much more. I will be recommending this treatment to everyone I come across, I am so thrilled that psychedelic therapy is here and accessibility is opening up. Thank you, this is a wonderful new lease on life"

Hi, I'm Patrick O., a retired 66-year-old firefighter with almost 34 years of service. After completing KAP at The Vancouver Clinic in February, my life took a positive turn. Struggling with depression for years, Field Trip and tools acquired in 2021 transformed my outlook. From dreading retirement to eagerly anticipating each day, it's been a remarkable change. The caring staff at Field Trip played a crucial role in my journey, and I'm grateful. If you're feeling desperate, I'd be happy to share my story. Thank you, Field Trip, for being my savior. Sincerely, Patrick O.

Yes, there’s no downtime. rTMS does not impair cognitive or physical function.
Most clients undergo 20–30 sessions over 4 to 6 weeks, typically lasting 15–30 minutes each. Some clients feel better within 1–2 sessions, while most begin to notice effects within 2 weeks. Your clinician will guide your treatment plan.
✔ 70–80% of clients experience significant symptom improvement
✔ 40–50% achieve full remission
✔ Clients often report improved energy, sleep, focus, and emotional resilience
To highlight its impact, the positive response rate of rTMS is 400% higher than that of trying a 4th medication.1 Results vary, and if satisfaction isn't reached, we’ll credit 25% of treatment costs towards another eligible program.

rTMS directly stimulates underactive or overactive areas of the brain using magnetic pulses. Unlike medication, it doesn't require metabolization by the body and avoids systemic side effects.
A 2019 clinical study on rTMS treatment and maintenance for depression and anxiety indicated that three weeks of rTMS treatment improved
symptoms, which were largely maintained at the six-week follow-up.
Another 2022 scientific study supported using rTMS for treating
depression and anxiety 57 out of 77 patients in the study reported statistically
and clinically significant improvements in anxiety symptoms and suicide risk.
A 2021 scientific review of various studies examining rTMS and PTSD
stated that “rTMS is a promising physical treatment for PTSD with its safety
and efficacy.”
In a 2022 meta-analysis including nine studies with 361 patients,
researchers suggested that “rTMS significantly improved global cognitive
function immediately following rTMS treatment,” indicating its use for
Alzheimer’s disease and dementia patients.
Another scientific review indicated that rTMS is an emerging field for
treating addiction disorders, such as those associated with cocaine use,
alcohol use, and even food cravings.
A 2017 meta-analysis showed improvements in chronic pain patients
after four to eight weeks of rTMS treatment. Researchers also suggested that
this treatment protocol improved the efficiency of conventional medical
treatment.
In various rTMS studies, researchers indicate the effectiveness of rTMS
in decreasing depression symptoms, with response rates of 50-70% and
remission rates between 30-50%.
Yes, many clients continue on stable medication regimens during rTMS. Dosages should be stable for at least 4 weeks prior to treatment. Medication adjustments are discussed with your clinical team.
We work closely with each client to ensure any applicable insurance is used. All treatment sessions are conducted by licensed Registered Clinical Counselors or Nurses, who are typically insurance-eligible. With that said, we always recommend confirming your coverage with your insurance provider before committing.
Yes, Field Trip Health has financing partners that offer flexible payment plans. For more information, speak with one of our nurses. Most financing requests are processed within 1-2 hours.
Clients with non-removable metal in the head (excluding dental work) may be ineligible. If your implant is MRI-safe, it is typically rTMS-safe.
This depends on the individual. Some individuals notice positive effects after a session or two. However, most notice a positive impact after two weeks. After discussions with their health team, some individuals may find they can go off of their medication. Yet, this isn’t best for everyone. While we aim for long-term relief, results vary depending on each situation.
