Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) treatment near you

Break through depression, anxiety, PTSD, and more with rTMS treatment

If you’re struggling with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, or chronic pain, you're not alone—and you're not out of options. At Field Trip Health in Vancouver, we offer Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), an evidence-based, non-invasive treatment designed to stimulate nerve cells in targeted areas of the brain. This innovative therapy can help you find lasting relief when other treatments haven’t worked.

What is rTMS therapy?

rTMS (repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation) is a Health Canada and FDA-approved therapy that uses a series of short, focused magnetic pulses to stimulate regions of the brain involved in mood regulation. These magnetic fields help reset abnormal brain activity associated with mental health conditions, improving adaptability and emotional balance.

Whether you're facing treatment-resistant depression, OCD, or post-traumatic stress disorder, rTMS offers a proven alternative to medication and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), with minimal side effects and no downtime.

symptoms, which were largely maintained at the six-week follow-up.

function immediately following rTMS treatment,” indicating its use for
Alzheimer’s disease and dementia patients.

Another scientific review indicated that rTMS is an emerging field for
treating addiction disorders, such as those associated with cocaine use,
alcohol use, and even food cravings.

A 2017 meta-analysis showed improvements in chronic pain patients

This depends on the individual. Some individuals notice positive effects after a session or two. However, most notice a positive impact after two weeks. After discussions with their health team, some individuals may find they can go off of their medication. Yet, this isn’t best for everyone. While we aim for long-term relief, results vary depending on each situation.

rTMS is generally safe with minimal side effects. The most common side effects include mild scalp discomfort and head sensation, typically lasting only a few hours and subsiding after each session.
