Support for Those Who Serve

First Responder-Focused Mental Health Programs

First responders often navigate experiences shaped by high-intensity work environments, exposure to critical incidents, and the demands of public-safety roles. Field Trip Health provides structured, clinician-supervised therapeutic programs designed to support first responders seeking additional mental-health resources.

Our team is familiar with concerns commonly discussed among first-responder populations, including stress-related symptoms, trauma-exposed histories, and challenges associated with sustained operational pressure. We offer coordinated care pathways that include psychotherapy, non-drug therapeutic modalities, and—when clinically appropriate—programs that may incorporate psychedelic-assisted therapy following a comprehensive medical assessment.

Our Services

Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy (PAT)

This option may be explored by First Responders seeking additional therapeutic support when previous approaches have not met their needs. Some individuals report that sessions involving psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy feel different from their earlier therapy experiences, offering a new context for engaging with emotions or patterns. These experiences vary from person to person, and suitability is determined through a clinical assessment that includes a review of potential risks, benefits, and available alternatives.

What to Expect

Guided sessions take place in a controlled, supportive setting and are paired with psychotherapy. Most sessions last about two hours and are overseen by trained medical professionals.

Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB)

SGB involves anesthetizing a portion of the sympathetic nervous system and is used in some clinical settings to address symptoms associated with trauma and anxiety. Some Veterans report early shifts in their recovery experience, though responses vary.

Clinical Research Involving MDMA and Psilocybin

Field Trip Health follows developments in scientific research exploring MDMA and psilocybin. These substances are not approved for therapeutic use in Canada, and are not offered through our clinical programs.

At present, MDMA and psilocybin may only be accessed in Canada through authorized research studies or through other regulatory pathways managed by Health Canada. Participation in such studies is strictly regulated and involves its own independent eligibility processes and oversight.

Our clinicians stay informed about emerging research so we can provide clients with accurate, balanced information when discussing the current landscape of treatment options and limitations.

Why Some First Responders Describe These Approaches as Different

Some First Responders have shared that certain therapeutic approaches offered at Field Trip Health feel distinct from previous experiences with conventional treatments. They sometimes describe these sessions as creating space for emotional reflection or exploration in a different way. Experiences vary widely from person to person.

A clinician will review your medical history, needs, and safety considerations to determine whether any of these options may be appropriate for you.
